Apple releases iPad Air with M4

Apple has introduced the new iPad Air powered by the M4 chip, offering faster performance, more memory, and improved connectivity while keeping the same starting price of ₱42,990 for the 11-inch model and ₱54,990 for the 13-inch model. The device is also available at lower prices for education.

The new iPad Air comes in two sizes, 11-inch and 13-inch, and supports features in iPadOS 26. It is designed for students, creators, business users, and gamers who need speed and portability. Apple said the M4 chip makes the device up to 30 percent faster than the previous M3 version and up to 2.3 times faster than the M1 model.

The M4 chip has an 8-core CPU and 9-core GPU. It also supports advanced graphics features like ray tracing, making editing and gaming smoother. The device now has 12GB of unified memory, which is 50 percent more than before, and memory bandwidth of 120GB/s. Its 16-core Neural Engine is up to three times faster than the M1, helping with AI tasks like photo search, note transcription, and video editing.

For connectivity, the iPad Air uses Apple’s new N1 wireless chip with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support. Cellular models include the C1X modem with faster 5G speeds and lower energy use. It also supports eSIM for easy plan setup.

The device works with Apple Pencil (USB-C), Apple Pencil Pro, and Magic Keyboard. It also features a 12MP Center Stage front camera, landscape stereo speakers, and all-day battery life.

Apple said the new iPad Air uses 30 percent recycled materials and supports its goal to become carbon neutral by 2030.
