#10-year passport

The House of Representatives has approved today the House Bill 4767 which seeks to extend the validity of passports from 5 years to 10 years. This seeks to amend the Philippine Passport Act of 1996, which states that a passport shall only be valid for a period 5 years regardless of the applicant's age. In the proposed bill, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is authorized to limit the validity of a passport to less than 10 years whenever required by national economic interest or political stability of the country or in the case of minors below 18 years of age. We just came from the BlackBerry Passport’s local launch and we got the chance to fiddle around with the device for a little while. The BlackBerry Passport, if you still haven’t noticed, has a square-ish form factor with a 4.5 x 4.5-inch display. Upon picking up the Passport (which is really just as big as a real passport), one can immediately feel the premium quality of the materials used.
