Months after we spotted it on VillMan’s site, Acer Philippines formally launches its wallet-friendly Windows smartphone called the Liquid M220. The Liquid M220 is an entry-level smartphone which sports a near-identical specifications to that of the newly-launched Cherry Mobile MAIA Fone i4. Acer's first Windows 8.1-powered affordable smartphone that was announced back in March, the Liquid M220, is now available for purchase at Villman. Acer announces that it will further extend its reach in smartphone business to the United States by making its Liquid M220 available to Microsoft Stores. It is the first Liquid smartphone to run on Windows 8.1 OS and is supported by Acer for the free Windows 10 update. Acer announced its new lineup of smartphones ahead of everyone else today, and it includes the Liquid M220, its first Windows 8.1 Phone that can give entry-level Lumias a run for their money. The Liquid M220 will sport a 4-inch screen display with a 223ppi resolution, a 5MP rear camera, and is equipped with Windows 8.1 which is said to be upgradeable to Windows 10 once the new OS update is out in the market.
