Adobe is officially taking a step back from Flash and now walking towards HTML5 with the announcement of its new tool - the Adobe Animate CC. According to Adobe's blog post, the software company rewrote Flash Professional due to the "emergence of HTML5 and demand for animations that leverage web standards." The result is a new tool called Adobe Animate CC, a transformed Flash Professional with native HTML5 Canvas and WebGL support. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhgQ4ZDKYfs Adobe says that Animate CC will continue supporting Flash (SWF) and AIR formats. Animate CC will be available in January 2016 in the Creative Cloud desktop application. Adobe has confirmed that Adobe Animate will no longer be available for download to new customers starting March 1, 2026. Formerly known as Flash, Adobe has announced that Adobe Animate will not be available for download starting March 1. "Animate has been a product that has existed for over 25 years and has served its purpose well for creating, nurturing, and developing the animation ecosystem. As technologies evolve, new platforms and paradigms emerge that better serve the needs of the users," the brand states on their Animate End of Life FAQs page.
