The Amigo UI of Gionee is similar to the likes to Xiaomi’s MIUI and Huawei’s EMUI wherein the usual app drawer found on other Android handsets is omitted. Aside from that, one of the major differences of Amigo is how it handles notifications and quick settings. Amigo is well-designed and runs skin deep. Its set of icons are not the prettiest around, but thanks to the simplicity and joyfulness of the palette of the UI, the overall appeal of Amigo is pleasing. We’ve noticed that the UI framerate when navigating through Amigo is pretty smooth and seems to consistently reach the 60fps mark. Basically, for most, the Amigo UI is a great skin compared to others which slow down the device over time.
