Asus is still carrying the Google Nexus 7 in the Philippines and remaining stocks are still being sold in local stores two years after the last generation was released. Asus is dropping the price of the 16GB Nexus 7 to just Php7,995 while the 32GB version is now at Php9,995. We know a lot of you were pretty disappointed with the absence of a new or beefed up version of the Nexus 7 in this year’s Google I/O. And just when we thought that we have nothing to look forward to, a glimpse of its possible configuration has been leaked by an unlikely source; an ASUS Live Chat support. According to the willing rep, the upcoming Nexus 7 will sport a lot of improvements over its predecessor including a Full HD screen and a tandem of Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor and 2GB RAM under the hood. Assuming that Google/ASUS will keep their pricing scheme, there’s no doubt that the next gen Nexus 7 will again be a hit in the market. It's not all glitz and glamour for the Nexus 7. Some of you may already know this but, the product engineers at Asus were given only four months by Google to produce a working tablet.
