Last time around you saw our full review of the Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE550ML). This time, it’s the ZE550ML’s little brother’s turn on the spotlight as we take a closer look at the Asus Zenfone 2 ZE500CL. When Asus originally announced the Zenfone 2, they inconspicuously added the ZE500CL to the line up. In fact, we only learned of the ZE500CL much later when Asus announced it in Taiwan last March. The curved form factor also creates an illusion that the ZE500CL is thinner than what its specs sheet suggests. Sadly, like the ZE550ML, the ZenFone 2 ZE500CL’s screen is also reflective which is susceptible to poor outdoor legibility despite cranking the brightness to its full capacity. This ZenFone 2 ZE500CL that we got last week comes with a ton of pre-installed apps that easily filled up the handset’s 16GB internal storage (11.12GB usable). Camera Like in the processing department, the ZE500CL didn’t see any improvement on its rear camera from the ZenFone 5, at least as far as megapixel count is concerned.
