Our poll for this week is -- which point-and-shoot camera are you still using? Despite owning a dSLR, I'm looking at a range finder camera for rugged use (more likely for underwater shooting). A reader emailed in asking for advise on which dSLR camera to get with a budget under Php40,000. I'm biased towards Canon cameras but here's my list of possible kits you can buy with that budget. Canon may be preparing to enter the pocket gimbal camera segment, based on a newly published patent that outlines a compact, stabilized handheld device aimed at content creators. The patent describes a compact camera with an integrated three-axis gimbal, a fixed lens, and a built-in screen housed within a handheld grip. Instead of simply cutting power, the camera would guide the gimbal into a safe resting position using sensors and image detection before turning off. Canon has reportedly filed multiple patents related to gimbal cameras over the past few years, with designs gradually shifting from experimental concepts to more practical, consumer-ready ideas.
