Canon Philippines officially brought back its flagship photography event after a seven-year hiatus, with the Canon Photomarathon 2026 held on April 18 at the BGC Amphitheater in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. His winning entry earned him a Canon EOS R6 Mark III paired with an RF 24-105mm IS STM lens, a major upgrade from the Canon EOS RP he used during the competition. Aside from the usual Open and Canon-exclusive categories, Canon introduced a Video Category for the first time, expanding the competition beyond still photography. Participation was also opened to all digital camera users, alongside dedicated categories for media and Canon employees. The BGC Amphitheater was transformed into a creative playground through the Canon Creator Park, featuring themed setups like pet photography, cosplay, and bridal shoots. Attendees also joined workshops led by industry professionals, covering topics such as: Wildlife photography Content creation Cityscape shooting Cinema camera workflows Hands-on demos of Canon’s latest imaging gear and on-site printing stations added to the experience, allowing participants to turn their shots into physical keepsakes.
