Acer has officially unveiled the Chromebook Plus Spin 514, its first Chromebook powered by the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 processor, offering built-in Google AI features, impressive battery life, and a rugged convertible design—all headlined for creators, students, and professionals who need performance and portability. The new Chromebook Plus Spin 514 (CP514-5HN) steps up with the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 CPU paired with a dedicated NPU able to deliver up to 50 TOPS of AI processing power, enabling real-time on-device AI features such as smart tab grouping, AI-powered image editing, and seamless Google Lens integration. Optional upgrades include up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage, plus features like an OceanGlass touchpad and optional fingerprint sensor for added security. Acer is offering a free 12-month Google AI Pro plan with this Chromebook, providing expanded Gemini, Flow, and NotebookLM access plus 2TB of cloud storage on Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos. Along with their new gaming notebooks, Samsung has announced new Chromebooks - the Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro.
