Starmobile, in partnership with Smart, today launches an affordable handset named the Play Click. Here are the local players we know so far. ClickPlay is a local start-up which was founded sometime 3 years ago and was heavily supported by Samsung and PLDT. iFlix is a relatively newer player which positions itself to be the Netflix in SEA. PLDT has invested a huge amount of resources into a lot of these services -- ClickPlay, Blink and iFlix. We just got our review unit of the BlackBerry Playbook today and we got word that Globe has taken lead on the release of the tablet in the Philippines with a possible launch date later this month or early next month. It certainly will not be locked considering there's no SIM module on the Playbook. What we are sure is that Globe will be the one who will announce the availability of the BlackBerry Playbook in the Philippines.
