Japan has announced the voluntary recall of 2016-2019 Honda Pilot units for a possible replacement of the panel comp hood. Findings show that due to an improper hood to grill gap setting at the time of vehicle manufacturing, the hood latch may experience higher than expected load under certain driving conditions. Strong air pressure forced through this gap may cause the hood to vibrate which, over time, may cause the area surrounding the hood latch striker to crack and potentially dislodge, presenting a risk for the hood to open while driving and increasing the risk of a crash. In the country, no crashes and injuries have been reported with regards to this issue but Honda will still proceed with the reinforcement or replacement of the panel comp hood. My first branded notebook that I bought several years ago was a Compaq Presario that I got for over Php60k. Today, the Compaq brand seems to be relegated by HP for entry-level categories and SMBs. The Compaq 511 retails for about Php30,990 in stores with Windows 7 Starter pre-installed. According to the LTO, the deficiencies could expose millions of driver and vehicle records to potential security risks and may affect compliance with the Data Privacy Act.
