Visa has announced the launch of Garmin Pay in the Philippines, allowing users of compatible Garmin smartwatches to make contactless payments using supported Visa cards. Garmin Pay allows users to tap their smartwatch at contactless payment terminals without using a physical card or smartphone. Visa also remains optimistic about the continued growth of non-cash payments in the country. According to the company, both card-present and card-not-present transactions are increasing, alongside the growing adoption of contactless payments, e-wallets, and Google Pay. Beep has teamed up with Mastercard to bring another contactless payment in public transport such as Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3), and Edsa and Bonifacio Global City busses.
