Microsoft Copilot now lets Windows 11 users manage their Android 14 phones straight from a desktop. Users have to link their device via Phone Link, where Copilot can retrieve messages, set alarms, and get other information. To set this up, simply visit the Copilot website and look for the Phone toggle in the Plug-in section. From here, just follow instructions provided by Copilot to begin linking your mobile device. Copilot will also ask the user for permissions to see your messages and contacts to enable the plugin’s functionality. Currently, there are over 20 Copilot+ PCs available with Snapdragon chips rocking NPUs that provides up to 45 TOPS. Aside from that, they’re also giving access to several custom GPTs to perform specific tasks such as Adobe Express that assists editing through Adobe software; Code Copilot that helps in coding; and Tutor Me for educational assistance in math, humanities, or science. This move likely stems from OpenAI's desire to make advanced AI tools more accessible but is also likely a response to competition from Microsoft's Copilot, Anthropic's Claude 3, and Google's AI offerings, all of which provide similar functionality.
