#DICT CICC online gambling

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), through its Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center (CICC), has begun taking action against content promoting unlicensed online gambling platforms. The CICC warns that those who continue to promote illegal gambling platforms may face charges under laws covering illegal gambling, tax evasion, and data privacy violations. The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) has recommended that the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) file charges against social media personality Jam Magno for allegedly promoting illegal online gambling sites. According to the CICC, the finding was the result of an almost month-long investigation following hundreds of complaints against influencers allegedly endorsing unlicensed and unregulated online gambling platforms in the country. The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) have issued a warning to Roblox. The DICT and CICC have stated that Roblox could face restriction or suspension in the Philippines.
