The 4th version of Digg has been rolled out with several major changes in the design, front-page algorithm, and social components. Since 2004, Digg has been a major source of breaking news and stories for me -- ranging from the oddest, funniest, and most informative collection of stories. It somewhat lost it relevance so the 4th version of Digg is trying to fix that. I rarely use it nowadays but the roll out of Digg 4 looks promising I might give it a second try. Digg, one of the internet’s earliest community-driven platforms, is officially back — once again aiming to reclaim relevance in a landscape now dominated by Reddit. Before Reddit rose to become the so-called “front page of the internet,” Digg was the place where users collectively surfaced the web’s most interesting links through upvotes. Now, Digg founder Kevin Rose is attempting a comeback with an unexpected ally: Alexis Ohanian, one of Reddit’s original creators. The two have teamed up to relaunch Digg, positioning it as a modern alternative to Reddit.
