Under the hood, powering the TCL P10 is a MediaTek Dimensity 6000 series chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage and a ample size 5,010mAh battery. MediaTek has announced that it has partnered up with Intel, and will be launching a lineup of 5G chipsets called Dimensity. First in the lineup is the Dimensity 1000 5G SoC. The Dimensity 1000 5G SoC is built on the 7nm process, featuring four ARM Cortex-A77 cores at 2.6 GHz, along with four Cortex A-55 cores. The Dimensity 1000 also supports dual 5G SIM technology, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 51., and is capable of up to 2.5 Gbps upload and up to 4.7 Gbps downloads over 5G. The chipset also supports up to 16GB LPDD4X RAM and QHD+ 90Hz display support. MediaTek President Joe Chen stated: Our Dimensity series is a culmination of MediaTek’s investment in 5G and positions us as a leader driving 5G development and innovation. We chose the name Dimensity to highlight how our 5G solutions are driving new waves of innovation and experiences, much like the fabled fifth dimension.  MediaTek also divulged that the first Dimensity-powered smartphones will be launched in the market by Q1 of 2020.
