Warner Bros Discovery had its Q2 earning call and CEO David Zaslav confirmed plans for HBO Max and Discovery+ to be merged into a single service by the summer of 2023. Zaslav confirms that Discovery+ will be the core of the latest streaming platform thanks to the superior tech stack and that the whole HBO Max programs will be carried over. On the other hand, Warner gained a combined 1.7 million HBO Max and Discovery+ subscribers over the last quarter and reportedly has 92.1 million subscribers globally nearing its target of 130 million subscribers by 2025. Following its merger with WarnerMedia, Discovery confirms it will combine its Discovery+ streaming service with WarnerMedia's HBO Max. The streaming service, Discovery Plus (Discovery+), is now available in the Philippines through its partnership with Globe. Discovery+ is the streaming service that gives unlimited access to various content sourced from TLC, Asian Food Network, HGTV, Food Network, Investigation Discovery, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and more, along with exclusive originals. All Globe Postpaid and Platinum customers are eligible to get early access to discovery+ for a special promo price of PHP 99 for one year’s access.
