Cherry Mobile is trying to test out the market with its dual camera touting smartphones starting with the Flare P1 that we’ve reviewed earlier this month. Above the panel is the 8-megapixel selfie camera along with its own LED flash, the earpiece, and front sensors. The main feature of the handset is its two rear cameras – a 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel combo. As we’ve seen with its sibling, this setup allows the phone to add an artificial depth of field in pictures although, it’s not as impressive with other dual camera smartphones in the market. The Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to launch later this year, and a new leak suggests it could come with a major camera upgrade, featuring two 200MP rear cameras. According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, an upcoming compact flagship phone with a 6.3-inch display is being tested with a dual 200MP camera setup. If accurate, the phone could feature a 200MP main camera paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto lens. Xiaomi has previously reserved its best camera hardware for Pro models, and the same strategy is expected for the Xiaomi 18 series.
