The Senate of the Philippines has questioned the Department of Information and Communications Technology over the recent outage of the eGovPH Super App, citing funding and infrastructure limitations behind the disruption. Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano is pushing to make government aid faster and more transparent through a unified digital platform like the eGov Super App. The Philippine Government has launched an app to aid in businesses involving state agencies: the eGov PH Super App. With the eGov PH Super App, it will allow the public to have a hassle-free transaction and lessen corruption in government. DICT is collaborating with other government agencies that involve developing, implementing, and integrating several components, such as E-Local Government Units (ELGU), E-Government Application (EGovApp), EGovpay, E-Travel, and E-Cloud, among others. The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) said that its eGov Super App—that aims ‘faster, more streamlined and convenient delivery of government services’—is ready for rollout. The DICT in collaboration with other government agencies initially introduced the eGov Super App on December 2, 2022. The initiative involves developing, implementing, and integrating several components, such as E-Local Government Units (ELGU), E-Government Application (EGovApp), EGovpay, E-Travel, and E-Cloud, among others.
