Even the folks from Canon Philippines were surprised with the announcement of the company's new mirror-less camera, the Canon EOS M. In a short meeting this afternoon, we talked to someone from Canon PH about the rumored EOS M mirrorless camera when it was revealed that the official announcement was today (we reported about the rumor a couple of days ago). The EOS-M mount is also compatible with existing Canon EOS EF and EF-S lenses so if you already own a Canon dSLR, this won't be a problem. The Canon EOS-M will retail for $800 with the 22mm kit lens and $850 with the 18-55m m kit lens. At these price points, the EOS-M will definitely eat into the market of the EOS 1100D and even the Canon G-series. The local office will release the EOS-M in the Philippines sometime in September. Two of the top 3 Android smartphones, the Ideos X5 and X3, as well as the Ideos S7 Slim (predecessor of the MediaPad). The Ideos X3 is the nicest-looking of them all, and reminds me of the HTC Wildfire, with its very thin frame of just 9.9mm.
