Meta has announced the global rollout of new subscription plans for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, adding paid features across its social media and messaging platforms. The company introduced Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus, both priced at $3.99 per month, while WhatsApp Plus will cost $2.99 monthly. Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus subscribers will get access to new features focused mainly on Stories and profile customization. Subscribers can also preview Stories before posting, search viewer lists, post directly to their profile without showing content in followers’ feeds, and use features like animated reactions, custom app icons, extra profile pins, and custom fonts for bios. Back in 2018, Facebook added a context button that provides users with information on an article's sources. Today, Facebook is adding a new notification that lets people know when news articles they're about to share are both timely and credible. Facebook has recognized the importance of the context of the timeliness of an article as this helps people decide what to read, trust, and share. To combat this, Facebook's new feature is meant to ensure the users have the context on the articles they share on Facebook.
