Facebook is testing out a new feature called Instant Videos wherein you can watch videos without using your mobile data. Facebook told TechCrunch that the Instant Video test is available to a small percentage of Android users, and that the goal is to remove data costs when watching videos. Because of these, Facebook now puts a cover over potentially-graphic videos that warns the user of its nature and asks for consent before it plays. This safety measure also disables those videos from auto-playing (a feature they rolled out previously). This lets users record themselves and their screen at the same time, making it easier to create reaction videos without needing to switch apps or set up a green screen. Supported devices will gain features such as Ultra HDR capture and playback, built-in video stabilization and Night Sight integration for better low-light photos and videos. The brand says it has also optimized the upload process so that photos and videos posted to Instagram retain more of their original quality. Smart Enhance can upscale photos and videos with a single tap using on-device AI while Sound Separation can isolate voices, music and background noise to make audio cleanup easier.
