Converge has now finally announced its PBA team which will go by the “Fiber Xers” to celebrate and represent the company’s identity as one of the country’s leading internet providers. Converge has just announced that its fiber network has now reached over 500,000 kilometers. In a report to the NTC, Converge has said that it has laid down over 523,000 kilometers of fiber nationwide, more than double from last year where they rolled out 260,000 kilometers of total fiber assets. The current fiber cable kilometers of the company consists of 403,740 kilometers of last-mile network ando ver 119,000 kilometers of fiber backbone which include its domestic subsea cable system. Converge was the first to deploy 400G data transmission capacity on its metro backbone which was further doubled to 800G, boosting the fiber network’s capacity to push huge amounts of data throughout the length of the cable, in anticipation of the use of next-generation, hyperscale capacity applications. The most expensive and fastest connection you can get is with Globe at PHP 9,499 / month with 1 Gbps speeds, followed by Fiber Xtreme 7000 with 800 Mbps.
