#gcash is down

After yesterday's widespread downtime of GCash, the company has finally restored GCash back to normal operations. GCash has been continuously rolling out safety and security measures to prevent unsecured devices from accessing the app. Go to the GCash Help Center at https://help.gcash.com, and talk to Gigi. GCash will never send emails or messages with links nor reach out to customers via calls and other messaging platforms. GCash did not elaborate as to what additional security measures were put in place but we'll look into this and update this story once we do. GCash is strengthening its efforts against task scams and other forms of social engineering fraud as digital scam syndicates become increasingly sophisticated across the country. Since 2025, GCash reported closing over 3.3 million scam-linked wallets as part of its fraud monitoring and proactive wallet blocking efforts. GCash also continues to work closely with the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center, National Bureau of Investigation, and other regulators to strengthen its anti-fraud measures.
