GCash has just announced that it will be expanding internationally with GCash Overseas after the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) approved its beta launch. This means that users can download the GCash app and register using their international SIM and have the full functionality of GCash such as sending money, paying bills, buying load, and more. Currently GCash Overseas is in beta and available to limited users in Japan, Australia, and Italy. GCash has also encouraged its users abroad to be one of the first 1,000 Filipinos to try it. GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon also expressed her excitement through a Facebook post, saying that it was "Truly a huge collective effort from our team for the Filipino OFWs and migrants around the world." She also further stated that GCash Overseas will soon expand to users in the USA by next week. GCash announced today their partnership with Facebook to bring the famous virtual wallet into Messenger. GCash started back in 2004 as Globe's mobile money wallet and has since grown to be one of the most used money transfer and payment portal in the Philippines. Cross-platform sending (PayMaya to GCash and vice versa) would be available soon but for now, only GCash members can send and receive money from each other.
