GCash has officially launched Watch Pay with HUAWEI, making it the country's first QR code payment through a smartwatch. Announced back in June during Futurecast 2024, GCash has worked together with HUAWEI to launch Watch Pay. This allows users to pay using a QR code through their watch. As of the moment, the smartwatches that are able to do this are the HUAWEI Watch Fit 3, WATCH GT 5 Series, and WATCH Ultimate. Watch Pay is expected to be compatible for all of HUAWEI's other watches by November 15. There is no word which other watches will have Watch Pay.
