Shortly after Globe issued their warning to the public regarding tampered Globe At Home modems being sold as DITO modems, the telco, along with the Philippine National Police, has arrested a suspect in a sting operation in Cavite. According to Globe, they retrieved a unit of Globe At Home Tozed S10g modem rebranded with DITO stickers from Marlou De Paz in a sting operation in Pala-Pala, Brgy. The post also openly claimed that the modems are the Tozed "S10g Home Prepaid WiFi device." Globe is currently the only authorized distributor of these Tozed S10G modems in the Philippines. Globe calls on its customers to report suspicious activities surrounding Globe At Home's modems and escalate these accordingly to the appropriate authorities such as the Department of Trade and Industry—Consumer Protection Group with the email address [email protected] or no. Globe warns the public of a modus where Globe at Home modems are illegally sold as DITO modems by certain individuals and online stores. According to Globe, certain individuals and retail establishments are illegally reselling and passing off their Globe At Home WiFi modems as DITO Telecommunity modems. This is done through the unauthorized unlocking of the Globe device, substituting the Globe SIM with a DITO Telecommunity SIM, and concealing the Globe At Home trademark with a DITO sticker.
