Globe has recently launched the GoPay service - the first QR payments via smartphone in the Philippines for cashless transactions. GoPay is the newest feature within the GCash application which allows customers to pay using their GCash account by simply scanning QR codes displayed by establishments or stores. Globe's goal for making the GoPay service is to have a "cashless ecosystem" and make GCash payments as the new convention for mobile money transactions. To use the GoPay service, the user must download the latest GCash application then register for an account.
