First time this happened to me was last Saturday when suddenly I lost network service. I thought Globe deactivated my current SIM so I could use the new SIM with the iPhone 5 they sent me (it's odd though that they'd deactivate it first). Fortunately, my network service came back. This is just in case this happens to you too (not sure if this is caused by the new LTE nano-SIM from Globe). Globe has officially launched Starlink's satellite-to-mobile service in the Philippines after receiving approval from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), making it the first local telecom operator to commercially offer direct-to-device satellite connectivity in the country. The new service is designed to help users stay connected in remote areas where traditional cell towers are unavailable and during emergencies when regular mobile networks are disrupted. It supports voice and video calls through supported apps, messaging apps, SMS, and basic navigation services using Starlink's low-Earth orbit satellites. According to Globe, the service works by allowing compatible LTE smartphones with an active Globe SIM to connect directly to Starlink satellites once they are outside Globe's terrestrial network coverage and have a clear view of the sky.
