The United States has moved to tighten control over internet infrastructure by banning new foreign-made consumer routers, citing growing cybersecurity and national security risks. Routers, essential devices that connect homes and businesses to the internet are now being treated as potential security vulnerabilities, similar to foreign-made drones that were previously restricted. “These permits complement our aggressive builds and roll-outs as we not only increase our capacity and capability but more importantly, we make connectivity possible and accessible in areas that don't have any access to the internet before,” stated by Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery under Network Technical Group Joel Agustin. With these established cell sites taking advantage of high frequencies, Globe is looking forward to giving faster Internet access to its subscribers whether they're in Luzon, Visayas, or Mindanao.
