Yesterday, the Court of Appeals ruled that Globe did not have enough grounds to grant a temporary restraining order against the Philippine Competition Commission in its mandate to review the purchase of San Miguel's telco assets to both Globe/PLDT. The PCC remains hopeful that this development will encourage Globe and other parties concerned to cooperate with the PCC in the fulfillment of its mandate to safeguard free and fair competition. PLDT also filed for a similar TRO last week but it will also likely to be rejected by the courts. Globe has partnered with Grab to improve its mobile network by collecting real-world data from daily trips across Metro Manila. This allowed Globe to check signal strength across different roads, traffic levels, and times of day. The data helped Globe find areas with poor coverage, including busy roads and places that were not tested before. With these insights, Globe plans to improve its services for both customers and drivers. Eric Tanbauco, Vice President at Globe, said the partnership helps the company see real network performance and use the data to improve services.
