One of the issues under Chromium Code Reviews suggests that search giant is planning to bring the Google Now to Chrome browser for desktop. For the benefit of those who don't have an idea about Google Now (either has not used an Android phone or has used a handset but is running on an older version of Android), it’s actually a virtual assistant which gives users relevant and timely information based on the usual things they search on Google, their location and even habits. Therefore, the more a person uses the device to search, the more the app knows about that person which then allows Google Now to come up with more relevant information to the user via Cards. So rather than just reading a bunch of words about something, Google Now presents it in such a way that it gives you better overview about the query through Cards. Google is trying to apply the same ideology to Chrome browsers as suggested by Issue 11412291 which is titled Creating a skeleton for Google Now for Chrome implementation. We’re not sure though if Google Now will only be available on Chromebooks or Google will port it across all Chrome Browsers.
