Android Authority has revealed that Google is still developing ways to make Android’s Quick Share compatible with iPhones. Here, traces of the string confirming Quick Share compatibility for iPhones were revealed. This suggests that iPhones may need to use a Google service, possibly through an app, for Quick Share to function. This follows Google’s recent update that allows the Pixel 10 series to send files directly to iPhones using AirDrop’s “Everyone for 10 minutes” mode. Nothing CEO Carl Pei shared the company’s interest on X shortly after Google’s announcement. Quick Share worked only within Android phones and Chromebooks, while AirDrop stayed exclusive to iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Google was the first to break the barrier by linking Quick Share and AirDrop on the Pixel 10 series.
