Amidst all the hype for Samsung’s recently-launched smartphones, Apple has silently rolled out an update, the iOS 8.4.1, for all compatible devices on their roster. Apple today officially announced the next version of their popular mobile operating system, the iOS 5 which will be available to you iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch this July. iOS5 also introduced iMessage, Newstand, Reminders, multi-tasking gestures and Airplay mirroring (for iPad2). Check this keynote video of iOS 5 for a more complete and detailed coverage. iOS 5 will be compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad, iPad 2 and 3rd and 4th gen iPod Touch. Just to remind you guys, while jailbreakme is compatible with all iDevices (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad), it only works with iOS 4.0.1/iOS 3.2.1 and older firmware. This can’t jailbreak iOS 4.0.2 and iOS 3.2.2 since this new iPhone/iPad firmware plugs the exploit used by this particular iPhone jailbreak. This also isn’t compatible with beta versions of iOS 4.1.
