We saw that on the iOS 16 last year that dropped support for iPhone 7/Plus, iPhone 6s/Plus, 1st-gen iPhone SE, and the 7th-gen iPod Touch. Such as the Live Text feature that was only compatible to iPhone XS/XR and later models. Even though they introduced a cheaper iPhone model in the form of the 2022 iPhone SE, most consumers still find it expensive because of its price tag of Php28,990 (the previous 2nd-gen iPhone SE was just Php24,490). Instead of buying straight from Apple's authorized resellers or even directly from the Apple Store, most consumers are looking out for an older brand new model, or a second-hand unit, but the latter seems to be less attractive because a used iPhone can be less attractive to some even if it is more affordable. But, that wasn't always the case, since there are second-hand iPhone models that are good as new even if it was released a few years back. With Apple releasing new iPhone models each year, some consumers who own last year’s iPhone often do trade-ins to get the best deals for the latest iPhone model. The carrier trade-in companies then sold these old iPhone units without much refurbishment.
