TikTok is adding a new toggle allowing users to set a limit on how much AI-generated content may appear on their feed or For You page. There are already existing toggles for a variety of topics and adjusting the slider for AI-generated content may also apply to all topics. “Like those controls, the AIGC setting is intended to help people tailor the diverse range of content in their feed, rather than removing or replacing content in feeds entirely,” said TikTok in a press release. TikTok is rolling out the feature “in the coming weeks.” In addition, the company is also testing “invisible watermarking” to improve labeling of AI-generated content on the platform. This adds a hidden marker to AI-generated videos that can’t be removed if the content is reuploaded or edited elsewhere. The company already requires creators to label realistic AI-generated videos and uses a metadata system called C2PA Content Credentials to identify such content. TikTok is rolling out Shared Collections, a feature that lets users organize TikTok content together in one space, and is preparing to launch Shared Feeds for watching content based on shared interests. DeepSeek is now requiring proper labels for all AI-generated content on their platform.
