The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved the provisional Php1 fare hike for jeepneys, increasing the minimum fare to Php9 for the first 4KM. Back in September 2017, transport groups petitioned the LTFRB to increase minimum fare from Php8 to Php10. The LTFRB said that they will issue an order regarding the fare hike before jeepney drivers can start collecting the minimum Php9 fare from passengers. GMA News has reported that some passengers are still shocked at the implementation of the new fare hike. The DOTC defended their decision as it has been over a decade since there was a fare hike on MRT-3. They can then tag the group on their respective social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter) and/or include hashtags such as #StrikeTheHike, #SelfieProtest and #NoToMRTLRTFareHikes on their post.
