LTO temporary suspends the issuance of student-driver permits from July 1, 2020 to August 3, 2020, following the Memorandum Circular 2019-2176 issued December last year. As stated by LTO Chief Edgar Galvante on his live interview on DZMM Teleradyo, student-driver permit applicants will now be required to take a 15-hour theoretical driving course. LTO is currently working with driving schools to set-up facilities where prospective student drivers may enroll for the said course. The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has announced that the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has activated 25 sites for the issuance of driver's license, student's permit, and conductor's license.
