Refreshed Macbook Air could arrive as soon as next month in March, boasting Apple M4 Series of chipsets. At the same time last year, Apple unveiled the M3-powered MacBook Air, and then a couple of months after, the iPad Pro was released—the first device running of Apple M4 silicon. By that time, the company also upgraded the standard memory for all M2 and M3 MacBooks (Air and Pro) to 16GB RAM. Now, Apple is doing the same treatment for the MacBook Air M3 and M2 models. While this is great news for many, those who recently purchased previous M3 and M2 MacBook Air models with 8GB RAM may be disappointed. Apple has introduced a new MacBook Air powered by the M5 chip, bringing faster performance, improved AI capabilities, and larger starting storage to the company’s thin and lightweight laptop. The new MacBook Air is available in 13-inch and 15-inch models and comes in Sky Blue, Midnight, Starlight, and Silver. Apple said the MacBook Air with M5 can deliver up to four times faster AI performance compared to the previous M4 model, and up to 9.5 times faster than the MacBook Air with the M1 chip.
