Last week’s MacBook Pro M4 announcement showcased 16GB of unified memory as a standard for base models. Now, Apple is doing the same treatment for the MacBook Air M3 and M2 models. While this is great news for many, those who recently purchased previous M3 and M2 MacBook Air models with 8GB RAM may be disappointed. Apple has just announced that its new Macbook Air with M2 chip will be available to order beginning July 8 and will be available to customers worldwide on July 15. Apple has introduced a new MacBook Air powered by the M5 chip, bringing faster performance, improved AI capabilities, and larger starting storage to the company’s thin and lightweight laptop. The new MacBook Air is available in 13-inch and 15-inch models and comes in Sky Blue, Midnight, Starlight, and Silver. Apple said the MacBook Air with M5 can deliver up to four times faster AI performance compared to the previous M4 model, and up to 9.5 times faster than the MacBook Air with the M1 chip. The new MacBook Air includes Apple’s N1 wireless chip, which supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 for faster and more reliable wireless connections.
