MediaTek announced the latest addition to its G Series, the Helio G91 chipset, designed for entry-level 4G smartphones. The Helio G91 has most if not the same hardware as its G88 and G85 predecessors, but offering an upgraded ISP (image signal processor). The new Helio G91 chipset supports sensors up to 108MP, giving it a competitive advantage in the market. Taiwanese semiconductor company MediaTek Inc. announced in Taiwan two new system-on-chips, the Helio P23 and P30. "Reaching the mid market means bringing people affordable devices that power and perform with the latest features, like dual-cameras and 4G LTE connectivity," TL Lee of MediaTek's Wireless Communication unit said. The MediaTek Helio P23 is set for its release sometime in Q4 of 2017, while the P30 will be launching in China soon. MediaTek has unveiled a new budget gaming 4G chipset, the MediaTek Helio G200.
