MediaTek has just announced the world's first octa-core SOC for smartphones that supports 4G LTE connectivity and powered by the latest Cortex-A17 CPUs from ARM - the MT6595. MediaTek, a Taiwanese semiconductor company, has recently introduced the "world's first True Octa-Core" processor for mobile devices. To give you a quick recap, the term octa-core in mobile was recently made popular by the I9500 variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 which uses an Exynos 5 Octa CPU.
