The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) are offering free rides to passengers experiencing issues with the new cashless payment system’s pilot run. To claim it, passengers must present proof of the failed tap-out transaction at any MRT-3 ticket booth. MRT-3 now accepts cashless payments (GCash, QR Ph) following a pilot test run. The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) recently announced that on February 24, 2022, they have serviced the highest number of commuters since it resumed operations in the middle of the pandemic on June 1, 2020. According to MRT-3, they have serviced a total of 228,213 passengers on February 24, 2022, which is the result of the increase in passenger capacity and faster train travel, and a higher number of running and operational train sets.
