The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has officially unveiled the Digital National ID. This digital ID functions as the official electronic version of the Philippine national ID, offering valid identification for both governmental and private sector transactions. According to the PSA, more than 87 million Filipinos who have already enrolled in the national ID system can now obtain their Digital National ID. To access it, citizens can visit the national-id.gov.ph portal or download the eGovPH application on their smartphones and computers. Government bodies such as the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) have commended the new digital ID. The introduction of the Digital National ID represents a significant advancement in the Philippines' efforts to modernize its identification systems, making government services more accessible and efficient for all citizens. Some (if not the majority) of the PhilSys registrants are still waiting for the physical copy of their National ID or PhilID. Hence, the Philippine Statistics Authority saw it fit to launch a digital version of the National ID and called it simply 'ePhilID' which "shall be honored and accepted as government-issued identification document." PSA says it will be a sufficient proof of identity and age. Read more in our articles including "Philippine Government Unveils New Digital National ID" and "Here's How to Claim Your Printed ePhilID".
