We’ve previously given you a list of octa-core smartphones that start at Php13K. After only a few months we now see the same processors but this time at way more affordable price points. Today we give you six octa-core smartphones that are locally priced below Php9K. Having eight cores on your processor doesn't directly equate to superior power, but it definitely helps. So for those spec-driven users out there, feast your eyes on some of the cheapest octa-cores of today! The Xiaomi Redmi Note (or Hongmi 2 as they call it in China) was reported to come in two different models -- with processor and RAM the only ones different. Almost two month after MediaTek announced the world’s first “True Octa-core” processor, and lambasted the Samsung’s chip in the process, the South Korean firm is back with a vengeance which comes in the form of the revamped Exynos 5 with HMP technology. Unlike the previous build, Samsung’s newly announced ARM-based SoC is now able to utilize all of its eight processor cores thanks to a solution they coined Heterogeneous Multi-Processing.
