#Ookla acquisition

Accenture has agreed to acquire Ookla for USD 1.2 ‌billion in cash. The acquisition aims to provide network data and analytics for Communications Service Providers (CSPs), cloud providers and enterprises. "By acquiring Ookla, we will help our clients across business and government scale AI safely and build the trusted data foundations they need to deliver the reliable, seamless connectivity that creates value." Accenture CEO Julie Sweet states. Ookla CEO Stephen Bye states: "Joining Accenture will allow us to scale our premiere network data business across the world’s largest enterprises and accelerate our goal of creating better connected experiences." The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and financial terms were not disclosed. Smart and PLDT are the Philippines' Speedtest Awards winners for the fastest 5G mobile and fixed broadband speed during Q3–Q4 2021, according to Ookla. Ookla compared 325,396 user-initiated 5G tests taken on the Speedtest iOS and Android mobile apps from all the major mobile carriers in the Philippines during the award period to determine who showed the fastest mobile network speeds.
