Accenture has agreed to acquire Ookla for USD 1.2 billion in cash. This is the company behind Speedtest, Downdetector, Ekahau and RootMetrics from Ziff Davis.

The acquisition aims to provide network data and analytics for Communications Service Providers (CSPs), cloud providers and enterprises.
“By acquiring Ookla, we will help our clients across business and government scale AI safely and build the trusted data foundations they need to deliver the reliable, seamless connectivity that creates value.” Accenture CEO Julie Sweet states.
Ookla CEO Stephen Bye states: “Joining Accenture will allow us to scale our premiere network data business across the world’s largest enterprises and accelerate our goal of creating better connected experiences.”
The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and financial terms were not disclosed.
