Accenture has agreed to acquire Ookla for USD 1.2 ‌billion in cash. "By acquiring Ookla, we will help our clients across business and government scale AI safely and build the trusted data foundations they need to deliver the reliable, seamless connectivity that creates value." Ookla CEO Stephen Bye states: "Joining Accenture will allow us to scale our premiere network data business across the world’s largest enterprises and accelerate our goal of creating better connected experiences." The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and financial terms were not disclosed. The Dublin-based consulting firm, Accenture, has announced that there will be headcount cuts for 19,000 jobs or 2.5% of its workforce worldwide over the next 18 months.
