In the latest Ookla’s study reveals that Starlink’s download and upload speeds are slower compared to other traditional providers in the Philippines. Ookla's Q2 2024 Speedtest Intelligence report shows Starlink’s median download speed at 48.14 Mbps, while fixed broadband in the country averages 94.42 Mbps. However, the report acknowledges Starlink’s value in the Philippines, where the country’s geography limits fixed broadband’s reach. The Ookla Speedtest Global Index report released on Tuesday revealed an improvement in the Philippines' fixed broadband download speed for January, with the median speed increasing to 88.13 Megabits per second (Mbps) from the 87.13 Mbps recorded the month before. Ookla has released their Speedtest Global Index for July 2021, revealing the Philippines’ average mobile internet download speed is at 33.69 Mbps, while the average fixed broadband download speed is at 71.17 Mbps. Samsung and Apple users in the Philippines can expect their devices to perform at their fastest on the Smart network according to a recent evaluation by Ookla. Based on Ookla's analysis of Speedtest Intelligence data for Q2 2021, Samsung and Apple devices in the Philippines are fastest on Smart's 5G mobile network.
